BROOKSBY

There is a single Belvoir Angel gravestone at the church at Brooksby. This one is not in the grounds but has been attached to the east wall of the church itself.

'Come Ye Blessed' is written across the top of the stone. The sad looking angel has the hour glass and crossed bones at either side in their normal positions.

The stone reads 'Here lyeth the body of James Duick who departed this life Oct the 25th 1727 aged 72 yeare'

'Grieve not therefore for me my glass is run  It is the Lord and let his will be done  Youth and old age they seldom do agree but these two liv'd in love and unity'
